Infodemiology.com launches with support from leading public health and health care associations

Together, APHA, ASTHO, NACCHO, ABIM Foundation, de Beaumont Foundation, the Coalition for Trust in Health and Science, PGP, and many others are building a community of practice for infodemiology in the U.S.

The fast-paced flow of digital information has created a monumental challenge for public health. Now, more than ever, information has the potential to harm people—or help them.

As epidemiology studies the determinants and distribution of health and disease, infodemiology provides an evidence-based practice to study the determinants and distribution of information that impacts health.

This collaborative, cross-sector global effort is informed and supported by organizations such as:

  • deBeaumont Foundation
  • American Public Health Foundation
  • National Association of County and City Health Officials
  • Coalition for Trust in Health & Science
  • ABIM Foundation
  • Unicef and World Health Organization
  • Public Health Communications Collaborative
  • Association of State and Territorial Health Officials
  • American College of Physicians
  • And many more
