Health information integrity in practice

Infodemiology helps institutions understand the information environment and respond with greater precision, coordination, and effectiveness.

Infodemiology.com is the home of the Infodemiology Initiative, a practice-based effort to strengthen health information integrity by connecting monitoring, operational insight, technical assistance, workforce capacity building, and system transformation. As information ecosystems continue to evolve, the initiative helps public health institutions, health systems, and partner organizations understand what is happening, determine what requires action, and respond in ways that are practical, timely, and sustainable.

Building field capacity

The Infodemiology Initiative connects knowledge to implementation.

The initiative engages with the broader fields of health information integrity, health communications, and trust, and helps translate what is emerging across those spaces into applied practice. Through resources, trainings, technical support, convenings, and operational frameworks, it helps organizations strengthen monitoring, improve communication practice, and build systems that can adapt to a changing information environment.

The Infodemiology Initiative is managed by PGP. Infodemiology.com provides practical resources, trainings, and field insights for public health leaders, health care organizations, communicators, researchers, technical partners, and others working to understand and improve the health information environment.

Making crisis communication operational

Communication systems must be built for a world in which crisis conditions are no longer occasional.

A major focus of the Infodemiology Initiative is integrating the tools and methods of crisis communication into routine daily operations. The aim is to help organizations manage communications in ways that do not depend on creating new programs, securing new resources, or improvising a new structure every time pressure rises. In today’s environment, where disruption is constant and crisis-like conditions are increasingly routine, communication has to be built as an operational function, not treated as an exceptional one.

Convening and coordinating the field

Progress depends on stronger coordination across institutions, sectors, and disciplines.

The Infodemiology Initiative serves as a convening and coordinating force for a growing community of practice working at the intersection of information, trust, and health. The initiative's goal is a field more aligned, more practical, and more capable of collective action as the information ecosystem continues to change.
